Within the frontier lands of Arradin, heroes quest for gold and glory...
Quest: Dark Halls of The Dreadknight
The adventurers meet in The Bent Blade Inn, seeking their next quest. A bard steps forward to sing to them the haunting tale of the Dreadknight, last knight of the now darkened lands to the west. Buried away in his sunken crypt, his vile energy still taints the land making it inhospitable for the folk of Arradin. The tale concludes with the warning that many have sought this sunken crypt to slay this cursed undead, though the map to this place is well protected by the mysterious thieves guild. The bard laments that even if one were to encounter the Dreadknight, few know how to lay him to rest permanently.
The party then decide to take on such a dangerous quest, seeking out the thieves guild in order to retrieve the map to the sunken sepulchre. Now on the run with thieves at their back, the party make haste on their way to the west to speak with the Sage Kalabaast, the only mage wise enough to know the weakness of the Dreadknight. Along the way they rest within the safety of Fort Coldwell, staying at the Gallant Knight Inn and Tavern.
The long road west to the Sage Kalabaast's tower is fraught with peril, leading them to travel even in the dark of night, knowing very well that their timeliness may be key to their survival. Upon meeting with Kalabaast, the sage warns them of their perilous quest, though he offers to study ancient scrolls of a bygone age in order to uncover the secret of the Dreadknight's weakness.
Armed with the secret of the Dreadknight's weakness, the party make their way into the cursed realm of his burial place. Seeking the sunken sepulchre within which he is buried away, the party battle twisted creatures and vile denizens of his fetid swamps. After entering the decaying ruins that the Dreadknight dwells within, the party wander aimlessly through the maze-like catacombs of his domain. At long last, they are face to face with the warrior of undeath and fight valiantly. Although many of their party are wounded, others having been slain, victory is theirs and peace may be returned to this land.
